Development Associate
The Development Associate serves as an essential member of the Development team and plays a key role in strengthening JACC’s fundraising operations, stewardship, and partnership fulfillment. Working closely with the Director of Development, this position ensures that donor data is accurate, stewardship activities are timely and meaningful, and partnership commitments are fulfilled with excellence.
Impact
The Development Associate will support the Development team by maintaining CRM data integrity, preparing reports, tracking stewardship and partnership deliverables, and coordinating cross‑departmental information needed to enhance donor and partner experiences. While not a frontline fundraising role, the position contributes significantly to JACC’s revenue success by ensuring donors and partners feel valued, informed, and engaged.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising Operations & Optimization:
• Support the creation and maintenance of key fundraising metrics, reports, and dashboards to help track progress toward organizational revenue goals.
• Assist with data analysis, donor segmentation, and list pulls that support fundraising campaigns, stewardship, and development team priorities.
• Maintain and update fundraiser portfolios by ensuring accurate coding, documentation, and timely data entry.
• Generate routine portfolio and revenue reports that help the Development team understand progress and prepare for donor meetings.
Stewardship & Partnership Fulfillment:
• Support scheduling/execution of the stewardship touchpoints, including thank-you messages, impact updates, partner records, & recognition.
• Maintain the org's stewardship calendar, ensuring all donors/partners receive timely & accurate follow-up based on giving level, program involvement, and specific partnership agreements.
• Draft personalized stewardship communications & partner updates to complement formal acknowledgement letters managed by Finance Associate.
• Coordinate impact reporting for corporate partners, foundations, and major donors including pulling data, assembling metrics, and gathering program highlights from the Education team.
• Track and monitor fulfillment of sponsorship and partnership deliverables (e.g., logo placement, signage benefits, volunteer opportunities, reporting deadlines) to ensure 100% compliance with commitments.
• Work closely with the Director of Development and Program staff to gather stories, outcomes, and visuals that enhance stewardship communications and partner reports.
• Maintain accurate records of stewardship interactions, deliverables, and deadlines in the CRM to support accountability and audit readiness across the Development team.
• Support Cultivation and stewardship events by preparing guest lists, name tags, check-in materials, and follow-up communications.
• Improve stewardship process, identify gaps, document workflows, & recommend efficiencies to enhance donor experience.
Database Management & Reporting:
• Serve as the point-of-contact for basic CRM needs, helping ensure accurate data entry, coding, & updates across all donor records.
• Maintain day-to-day data integrity, including deduplication, address updates, constituent notes, and documentation of donor interactions.
• Run routine donor and revenue reports for staff, including mailing lists, LYBUNT/SYBUNT lists, event attendee lists, and pipeline reports.
• Collaborate with Development and other departments to ensure accurate tracking of donor activity, stewardship touches, & campaign progress.
• Use Excel to clean, organize, and manipulate data for reports, imports/exports, and analysis.
• Assist in implementing process improvements in CRM based on feedback from the Development team.
Qualifications (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Approximately 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, operations, stewardship, or data‑focused administrative roles.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage detailed workflows, track deadlines, & maintain accurate records across multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional stewardship messages and partner updates.
• High level of comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and CRM systems; experience with donor databases preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; ability to manipulate, clean, and format data for reporting.
• Able to work efficiently in fast‑paced environment, prioritize competing deadlines, & support team operations with accuracy and attention to detail.
• A collaborative mindset with a service‑oriented approach—comfortable working across departments to gather information, fulfill partnership deliverables, and support donor stewardship.
