Program Events

Where: In the Community or at our JA Facility

You go to students in our community! You'll give them insight into your job and provide various JA curriculum so they can have an opportunity to see how work gets done. It's a really great way to meet students where they are.

JA Finance Park and JA BizTown

Where: Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas Headquarters

You'll be in an actual simulated city! You'll help guide students through their assigned family scenario where they will visit many different businesses. They must purchase items to meet the needs of their family, such as insurance, clothing, transportation, housing, groceries, and childcare—without spending more than they earn.

In-Classroom Programs

Where: In a school classroom in our community

As a JA Volunteer, you'll be paired with a teacher in a classroom. This delivery method is an effective and popular way to show students a connection between the skills they are learning in the classroom and how they can get a more fulfilling career and life.

K-12 Learning Experiences

Elementary

Young kids are the best. If you have a child in elementary school and want to share your experiences while presenting multimedia financial education and enjoy working with younger kids, contact JA of Central Carolinas to learn more about volunteering with JA!

Middle School

Middle School students are the best. Volunteering with kids can be so much fun but it helps when those students are more engaged and curious about the future and the kind of jobs that exist. If you enjoy working with kids, contact JA of Central Carolinas to learn more about volunteering with JA.

High School

Young adults are the best. If you enjoy working with kids that are ready to tackle the world but are looking for the paths to be opened up to them and are fascinated by innovation and entrepreneurship, contact JA of Central Carolinas to learn about volunteering with JA.
